Ingredients
2 | teaspoons olive oil |
6 | cups thinly sliced yellow onions |
1 | clove garlic, sliced |
6 | cups water |
6 | HERB-OX® Beef Bouillon Cubes |
1 | teaspoon Worcestershire sauce |
6 | slices French bread (¾” thick), buttered and toasted |
3 | cups shredded Swiss cheese |
Directions
In large Dutch oven, over medium-high heat, cook onions in hot oil 25 minutes or until browned. Stir in garlic and cook 2 minutes. Add water, bouillon cubes and Worcestershire sauce. Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Divide hot soup into six ovenproof bowls, place bowls on a baking sheet. Top each with toasted bread slice. Sprinkle with cheese.
Place oven rack 5 inches from heat source. Heat oven to broil. Heat soup under broiler 5 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
