Bacon Popovers are a delightful twist on the classic popover, featuring the irresistible flavor of HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Original Thick Cut Bacon. These light and airy pastries are baked to perfection, with a golden, crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. Each popover is infused with bits of savory bacon, adding a deliciously smoky taste to every bite.

3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup flour
½ teaspoon salt
6 slices HORMEL® BLACK LABEL® Original Thick Cut Bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled, bacon drippings reserved
¼ cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400°F.

  2. In large bowl, beat eggs with whisk. Beat in milk. Beat in flour and salt until smooth.

  3. Generously grease 12 regular-size muffin cups with reserved bacon drippings. Place muffin pan in oven 5 minutes. Carefully remove pan from oven. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups. Sprinkle bacon evenly over batter in muffin cups.

  4. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until deep golden brown. Prick top of each popover once with sharp paring knife to prevent deflation. Sprinkle cheese evenly over popovers. Let stand 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
